I am ‘blessed’ with 3 wonderfully creative kids! The term ‘creative’ is actually a code word for very busy and messy, haha! But I actually do see it as a joy and a blessing because I grew up with a passion and a love for the arts and I love how their strange little minds work. But this is the funny part, I had visions of myself with my darling children, colouring and laughing and glueing sequins with tiny little glue guns making beautiful crafts and artwork together. Until I had those darling children and tried to ‘direct’ them in doing anything!
Here’s the thing with creative minds: They have their own ideas and and don’t like being told what to do or how to do it! Especially with pipe cleaners or colourful pom-poms or goggly eyes.
It’s also possible that my darlings are very strong willed and opinionated!
So in order to foster those creative passions (theirs and mine) and to maintain any shred of sanity I have come to understand a few crucial points!
