We watched the previews for the new American Blogger movie, and it made us weep.  To have that hair, those homes, and put on REAL clothes?  So we made an American Blogger Movie Parody, because we wanted the TRUTH to be out.

So below, we share a bit of our world with you. Give you a taste of the glamorous life of a REAL American Blogger (with a heavy dose of Canadians thrown in, cause everyone knows Canadians are the funny ones).

This debut film is riveting, has beautiful cinematography, and an Oscar-worthy cast of stars.

We hope you read that in the voice-over voice and that you’ll laugh, and cry and finally see that yes, bloggers WILL change the world.

An amazing collection of bright women who somehow manage to work, play, parent and survive and write blog posts all at the same time. We are the BLUNTmoms, always honest, always direct and surprising hilarious.

  1. I am one of those American Bloggers. While I love a good parody, I think it’s sad that you discredit the bloggers that are in the actual film by saying they aren’t real, aren’t truthful. I do happen to be real. I write and tell the complete and whole truth. My house is clean, I took a shower (I would have done my hair…but cancer took that and I can’t get past the awkward length)….so I must have staged all of that. Aren’t we all in the same boat really? I guess I feel like you’ve just thrown me overboard….

    • Hi Ashley. We’re sorry that you didn’t find our parody funny. Nobody’s making fun of you personally, or your situation in particular. We’re a raw moms group with a humor bent, and sometimes we go all Martha Stewart and 5th Avenue, and sometimes we wear our pajamas all day just because we can. It takes all kinds to make the world, and nobody knows that better than us. Film’s a biased medium and people tend to play that up, but bless you if you’re as genuine in front of the camera as you are off of it, and as one BLUNT person to another who’s Blunt in her own way, kudos to you for telling the raw story about your fight against on your own blog.

      Sincerely,

The mom with the little boy in the video who really was sick with the stomach flu who had been up since 4am and been puked on an hour before filming her clip.

      • I get it. The parody is funny…believe me I’m right there with you. We all have our own real battles…for some of us it’s just getting dressed in the morning, and others maybe it’s wondering how we’ll even pay the bills this month. Thanks for approving the comment and responding. I just wanted to speak up and let you know there are real, real moms in the film.

        • I’m pretty sure I can speak for the group when I say we never doubted that some people are blessed with that life; seems to me that many people felt marginalized by the narrow view of an industry shown in the trailer because they didn’t have a magazine-perfect life. As you say, there’s a lot of different battles to be fought, even right here with our moms. We dig individuality and colour. And if you ever need a place to be BLUNT in a way you can’t be on your own place, that’s what this haven here is for!
