So which is it? Nurture or nature?

I believe it is nature all the way.  I have a little boy, who is being raised in a house overflowing with estrogen. With an at-home mom and two big sisters, this little fella has been sporting tutu’s and pushing baby carriages since birth.

But he still finds a way to bring out the boy in his play.

To be “Daddy”, or fight off the monsters.

Sticks become guns and no matter the game, he ends up mucky.

He’s a boy.

His sisters will dance around puddles, while he storms through, aiming his splashes directly at their clean dresses. He is quicker to anger, and also more forgiving (no drama for this little man).

He’s a boy.

And boys love their toys.

He knows exactly how to worm his way into his sisters’ lives. He already appreciates that girls are different, and special. He rescues his sisters from danger (you know, fire breathing dragons) and has neatly slid into the role of protector (even though he is just 4) and because of this,we totally get that he needs great toys to create opportunities for his imagination to wander.

Imaginext has a new line of adventure toys available, with Ed Venture being just what any little boy (and his sisters for that matter) would love to experience. A dinosaur warrior, a fireman and a Knight.   In fact, I think ANY MAN would give his left arm to be a Dino Warrior, don’t you?

Boys will be boys, and encouraging them to explore the things that interest them is just as important as showing them how to step out of the gender roles.  And trust me, on my little man’s birthday, he is going to want something that lights up his imagination.

And as much as I want my daughters to have good role models in their life and play, I want the same for my son.

Imaginext has a parent & kid friendly website with a variety of videos to watch to learn more about the Ed Venture character.

If you agree that Ed Venture seems like a pretty cool role model and toy for those little boys who just want to be boys, pop by their we site and enter for your chance to win 1 of 5 $300 prize pack of Imagnext toys JUST IN TIME for the holidays!
