I remember the first time I ever saw a VCR and VHS movie. My family sat around and we examined the machine, tape, and remote. Not sure we even cared what the movie was. We were having a man on the moon moment. It was like the time we all watched a hotdog together in the microwave.

Then technology started moving at warp speed. This made mocking older generations easier than ever. The following are real quotes from my elders regarding

Device: Cordless Phone

User: Dad

Quote: “Why do I need a cell phone when technically I could just take the cordless in the car with me”

Device: Google Maps

User: Aunt

Quote: “You know if you go outside Google can actually see you right now?”

Device: Any battery operated toy that starts to lose it’s will to live

User: Mom

Quote: “The batteries it comes with are only for the time it’s in the store. When you put your own batteries in it the toy does many more things.”

Clearly LG Smart TV technologists heard mine and every other child’s cries and fixed it. If my generation has to pause every ten minutes to answer calls from confused elders as to why they can’t find the send button then I thank you for making it easier.
