I never expected to be a “woman in tech” when I sat down with my toddler on my lap in 2013 and bought the BLUNTmoms domain. I had no idea what I “didn’t know” (and there was a lot of it” but I blindly went ahead and created this platform.
I was never a technology sort of person, I had no idea how to build a website, I was a terrible editor, but I had an idea that I thought people would like. It was just my good fortune that the BLUNTmoms team found me, and together we have created a community of writers sharing stories for almost 10 years.
Technology, internet marketing, content creation; all of it has developed and evolved so much in the decade we have been here and it has been through countless hours spent learning that our team has grown too.
Our kids are now entering High school and University, no longer babies on our laps, and our grey hairs have gotten bolder and harder to hide (not that we would) and we like to think that we have gotten smarter through the years as well.
From in person conferences (where we tended to dance more than learn some times), meeting new writers and seeing them achieve success, to all of us growing into our skills and passions, it has been a journey, and we aren’t done yet.

We can join communities, or create them. We can change our direction… sometimes we just need a chance to explore a new path!
