Whenever we at BLUNTMoms run something political we get a response from a small but vocal group of people that are always surprised. They say things like “Take this down!” and “Can’t we just talk about our babies and puppies?” Seriously, someone actually said that.

Here is what you need to know, heading into the Year of Our Election 2020… we have always been political and we will not stop now.

It isn’t because we are blunt, although that helps. It’s because we are moms.

We are moms of school kids who want to be able to learn without fear of being gunned down in math class.

We are moms of college-aged kids who want to learn without incurring six-figure debt at the hands of those who think tax revenue is better used for the war machine.

We are moms of LGBTQ kids who want their right to be treated equally to be honored, across the board, by everyone, everywhere.

We are moms of African American kids and we want to be able to send them out into the world without worrying that they will be indiscriminately shot and killed by the police.

We are moms of Hispanic kids who want them to live in a world where the very idea of tearing them away from their parents is abhorrent and then being given up for “adoption” is called what it actually is—child trafficking.

We are moms of Jewish kids who want to know that they can wear their yarmulke or Star of David without fear of being beaten or murdered for it.

We are moms who are working two jobs and struggling to feed our kids and we want a fair wage instead of tax cuts for billionaires.

We are moms of disabled kids who want the cuts to Medicaid and the stripping of ACA benefits to stop before they kill our children.

We are moms of sick kids who insist the needs of children be put before the endless profits of Big Pharma or tax deductions for personal jets.

We are moms of indigenous kids who want them recognized and respected for who they are.

We are moms of children that deserve clean air and water and a livable planet for them and their children to come.

Even if we were none of those things, we would advocate for yours because that’s what moms do.

Babies and puppies are cute and we can be cute. We can be silly, we can be sexy, and we can be angry.

But we cannot, will not, be quiet.

We are BLUNTMoms and we are blunt MOMS. It’s what we do.
