We are, obviously, Blunt. That was the pull that brought us all together. But we are so much more than that. This is a group of dynamic and vivacious women that I am totally hot for. No, not in a Katie Perry, I Kissed a Girl kinda way (well with the exception of a certain steamy BLUNTMom who admittedly makes me a little tingly) but in a I Totally Get You kind of way.
We are a cohesive yet completely random group of women. We come from different backgrounds, have different stories and different taste (who puts Drew Carrey on their 5 freebie list? And Adam Levine does not look like a rat!).
So what makes us mesh so well? We have a few commonalities. We are all mothers. We are all bloggers or are involved in the blogging world in some way. But the super glue that holds us together is that in this group it is NOT every woman for herself. There is a level of understanding and support in this wacky group that I have not seen before.
We have this ability, this freedom, to be severely honest with one another on so many levels. It’s refreshing, it is sometimes frightening and it is awesome. There is never any fear of retribution or treason. There is no shaming and no casting stones. We talk. We listen. We offer support and even criticism and it all comes from a place of honesty and respect.
And maybe that is the key here – respect. The BLUNTMoms respect one another. As a group and as individuals. It is the foundation to any good relationship and we have it in abundance. An outsider looking in might not think so. Like when our fearless (and brave I might add) leader tries to reign us all in and we carry on like a bunch of silly school girls. If you didn’t know us you might not understand that really is our way of telling the ever gentle ring leader that we are listening, that we get it. But she knows us and she also knows that even though we may at times (many times) exasperate her, that there isn’t much we wouldn’t do for her or with her.
In our circle we are all the cool kids. We all belong. We are blondes, brunettes and redheads in all shapes and sizes. We are confident and we are meek. Together we are warriors. We are the BLUNTMoms.
