Our daily schedule has me balancing ALL THE THINGS on a regular basis.  Dinner, work, hens, children, laundry. Driving all over the island to and from kids activities, and trying desperately to remember to get gas when I am in town.

There is A LOT for the average mom-brain to handle these days.

And sometimes I can’t handle it all. I drop balls and the kids go to school with mismatched socks (the horror) and dinner is pulled from the freezer instead of freshly made.  And the TV is on longer than the initial 30 minutes I had promised them. Some days I can feel all my standards lowering with a resounding “clunk.”

It’s the youngest little ones that wear on you the most, the incessant whining, the begging for snacks again (and again) and the “PLEASE MOMMY, I NEED YOU NOW” echoing through the house. So if I can find something that keeps my youngest engaged for more than 11 minutes, and isn’t the mermaid show his older sisters are watching, I am into that.

Windy and friends is a series of Appisodes for purchase on iTunes.  Not just your regular ole tv series, these are interactive storytelling apps using stop motion photography and blending art, music and theatre together.  Each Appisode provides hours of fun for the kids. I have to say that taking some time for myself knowing they are actively engaging and thinking while using this tool is a great balance.

educational apps, kids apps, learning apps,

Originally a children’s book, Windy the app has been built for the preK age group to entertain and educate. An interactive storybook as well as age appropriate games and activities, it is user friendly enough for the kids to manage WITHOUT your constant help.

That, plus Windy And Friends has also been featured by apple as one of the BEST new Apps!
